Currently the technology stack is based around a Monolithic java application using EJB3 for data layer integration with JSP support for the front end interfaces.
The team are currently working on updating the stack to provide a more fault tolerant and scalable solution by implementing a micro services architecture running in Docker on AWS as well as making a number of changes around the persistence layer.
Front end applications are now being built using ReactJS supported by a nodeJS backend exposing a GraphQL interface.

Job Description
Join the existing software development team as a JAVA developer to support the migration of the platform to a micro service architecture. Initially the role will involve working on the Duty of Care portal project and will be heavily focussed around data processing services which will be deployed in AWS.
On completion of the Duty of Care portal project the successful candidate will get involved in other JAVA projects as we continue to evolve our platform capabilities and move towards micro services.
There will be opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the technology stack that the candidate shows an interest in will become a key employee in the companies evolution.
An ideal candidate would bring experience of building micro service applications, commercial JAVA development experience and an understanding of what it takes to build a fault tolerant, highly scalable solution. Experience of developing and deploying services within AWS would be a distinct advantage.

Candidates should be highly motivated and have a good understanding of modern development patterns. It is essential the candidate can manage their time and development workload unsupervised.
