WordPress/Web Developer (Remote)

We are looking for a junior and passionate WordPress/Web Developer to join our team! As a WordPress Developer at Pixelstrike, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. We are expecting you to have a strong understanding of the latest industry trends, WordPress Codex, and WordPress Templating.

We build all of our new client sites from scratch and maintain them post launch. Ideally we are looking for someone who is ready to go and hop in, but we are willing to train someone up who doesn’t have all of the tools.

WordPress Developer requirements and qualifications:

• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience designing and developing responsive WordPress Templates
• Strong understanding of PHP templating development and how to build with WordPress Codex
• Knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (setting up field groups, building a template with the fields)
• Knowledge of Custom Post Types and creating custom WordPress loops

Bonus Points!

• Used CSS Pre-compressors (SaSS, LESS) and understand variables and partial setup
• Experience developing with Shopify
• Understanding of basic SEO and can implement basic on-page SEO strategies (such as Schema markup, metadata, etc.)

Job Type: Part-time; 15-20 hours a week
