Wordpress Web Developer needed for contract position of 20-40 hours per week working across multiple sites.
Basic Requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills
- Availability during USA working hours for communication in Slack Messaging
- Ability to complete tasks by their due date (but work the hours you desire)
- Ability to write clean code with little supervision
- Extremely detail oriented
- Some knowledge of SEO/SEM as it relates to website development
Skill Set Needed:
- At least 3 years' experience in PHP
- At least 3 years' experience in WordPress custom theme and plugin development
- At least 3 years' experience in MySQL
- At least 3 years' experience in jQuery
- Strong experience using visual composers such as Divi and WPBakery
- Strong HTML/CSS
- Preference given to anyone who has experience with AMP mobile coding from within Wordpress
The Work:
We work with a variety of clients, mostly in the health sector and mainly within WordPress. You will work on many different projects, such as creating WordPress themes from PSD files, fixing issues/bugs within existing Wordpress sites, updating content, optimizing sites to score as high as possible within Google Pagespeed Insights, tweaking one of our custom Wordpress plugins, and custom PHP coding. You will work with one senior web developer and report directly to the Web Development Team Lead. Since we are a small team, strong communication is a must.
The Hours:
We expect this position to vary between 20 hours and 40 hours per week, depending on what projects we are working on. We need someone available with short notice, i.e. if you are given a project we need to at least hear back that you are working on it and understand the requirements within a few hours. Beyond that, you can work whatever hours you feel comfortable so long as deadlines given within our project management system (Basecamp) are met.
Notice:
We work with doctors and so you will be exposed to clinical nudity in the form of "before and after" photos. Please do not apply if you are not comfortable seeing such photos, as we have a custom photo gallery plugin that sometimes needs to be debugged.
