We need to add Wi-Fi Design Engineers to our team. Positions are in Chicago adn the need is immediate. The Wi-Fi Design Engineers are responsible for Wi-Fi Site Survey, both pre-design as well as post installation design and optimization. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a working knowledge of building construction, analyzing RF environments, current industry leading tools/software & wireless standards, applicable knowledge of current routing and switching protocols needed to support an enterprise grade Wi-Fi solution.

Critical elements of this role include, not just the technical requirements but aligning closely with operational support organizations, SE support groups and others to assist in the continued review and delivery of highly reliable network optimization and designs.

Responsibilities (described as essential functions of the job) include but are not limited to:

· Create fully comprehensive network designs for the customers to meet wireless and back office core requirements defined by the customer use case.

· Integrate knowledge of building construction, RF behavioral characteristics and current hardware vendor limitations to create a design proposal.

· Gather and translate customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design and leverage the available solutions for multiple initiatives.

· Be fluent in authentication, access control, policy creation, policy enforcement, application acceleration, roaming, EMS/NMS, scale, redundancy and reliability in controller-based Wi-Fi architectures.

· Perform in-depth site survey using the latest test equipment available to determine pre-existing environments. Troubleshoot problems identified in field post deployment and drive them to resolution. This includes working closely with vendors to determine root causes or final resolution to global issues.

· Design cutting-edge technology solutions into a usable and marketable service using the knowledge of Wi-Fi standards, architecture and evolution. Make decisions and recommendations for technical solutions of the Wi-Fi service offering.

· Help to define processes and procedures for Wi-Fi engineering tasks.

· Communicate Wi-Fi team budget, milestones and deliverables to project management and implement plans to accomplish the milestones within budget, as required.

Requirements:

· BS/BA in related discipline (i.e., EE, CS, etc.) OR MS/MA and 4-6 years of experience in related field. Will consider additional industry related experience in lieu of degree.

· 3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi Optimization, Design & Deployment

· Experience in data communications, networking principles, traffic engineering, and bandwidth capacity management.

· Experience with iBwave/AirMagnet/Ekahau & other wireless network design & troubleshooting tools

Experience with Aruba products is a huge plus

· Fundamental understanding of modern router architecture (control plane and forwarding plane separation, switch fabric design, egress queuing, IP lookup algorithms).

· Hands on experience working knowledge of LAN Switching architecture including design and implementation.

· Fundamental knowledge in packet-based protocols such as TCP/IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc), MPLS and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP4.
Knowledge of optical transport systems.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Ability & willingness to work remotely, with flexible and long hours including weekends

· Ability and willingness to fly to the client’s location on a very short notice.

· Travel 25-50%

· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
