Web Developer (Remote)

Neurogan, Inc. is currently seeking a mid-level developer with strong skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This developer specializes in front-end development and has the ability to self-manage. They will be part of a small development team that overcomes challenges and delivers an excellent customer experience on our website.

To perform the tasks of this position successfully, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in vanilla JavaScript, using templating languages, custom build processes, git version control and working with APIs & their documentation.

This is a remote, contract position. As such, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing & maintaining their own office equipment. We would prefer someone who is generally available to work 9am-5pm PST so our team can collaborate on projects more easily.

Successful applicants will be invited for a remote interview that will involve a question and answer with screen share portion to assess their ability to read and understand code from our actual site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Convert custom front-end web designs into full responsive, functional web pages
• Develop and implement new site features, updates and changes as requested
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with fellow developers
• Manage and troubleshoot (when needed) all critical daily store functions (Products, Customers, Orders, Payments, Shipping, Critical Integrations, etc.)
• Support our sales, customer service and marketing divisions when they need help with the site or customers report issues (as applicable)
• Assist designers in developing content that is performant and responsive
• Actively maintain a time card
• Stay up to date on web and e-commerce trends and best practices
• Integrate with external teams for major integrations initiatives
• Other web development responsibilities as necessary to create modern, high-performing e-commerce websites

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Thorough knowledge of vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Possess excellent communication skills both written & oral
• Experience using a modern front-end framework (React.js, Vue.js, etc.)

DESIRED SKILLS

• Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms to include orders, products, payments, shipping, imports/exports and common integrations for things like review systems, email marketing, customer management and sales platforms
• Experienced with template languages (Liquid, Handlebars.js, etc.)
• Possess excellent communication skills both written & oral

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $40.00 to $55.00 /hour
