Web Accessibility Tester (Remote)

Job Summary

The Web Accessibility tester is responsible for reviewing code to identify and suggest potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on the W3C WCAG 2.0 standards.

This person will apply their web development and accessibility knowledge to websites, responsive hybrids and digital documents. Must be able to provide feedback and recommendations on how to fix WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA errors that have been found in the code.

This is a project-based contract position. Open to experienced blind accessibility testers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Excellent knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0, ADA Section 508, 21st Century Video and Communications Act.
• Successful candidates will have 2-3 years of front end web accessibility experience and must have a strong knowledge of WAI-ARIA and HTML5 accessibility practices. Candidates must also have strong experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and Zoom Text as well as familiarity with testing practices and methodologies such as WAVE, or Trusted Tester.
• Advanced knowledge of core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptFamiliarity with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworksFamiliarity with Web accessibility standards (WCAG, WAI-ARIA).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Must be able to work remotely and Webex meetings will be required.
