UX/UI/Visual Designer (remote)

ActivityHero is an online marketplace for kids' camps and classes. We are driven by our mission to simply parenting. We offer parents and activity providers all the necessary tools and assistance to help children discover learning opportunities that ignite their unique gifts and passion.

We are focused on creating a unique and personalized user experience for parents to discover and book camps and classes for their children. For activity providers, we create tools that help them easily add their listings and manage their registrations.

The UX/UI Designer will have a big impact on our product. You should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. A strong portfolio of successful UX and other technical projects is essential.

Ultimately, you will make our product more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop wireframes and task flows based on user needs. Understand product specifications and user psychology

• Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback

• Collaborate with the product team to create intuitive, user-friendly software

• Create UX flows and high resolution UI mockups based on the specifications provided by the product team

• Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers

• Work closely with our product and engineering teams as part of an agile development process as product features move from product specs to production software

• Conduct A/B tests of different workflows and determine the best flow based on conversion metrics

• Create high resolution graphic designs needed by the marketing team for social media, email newsletters, paid advertising.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of work experience in UX/UI/Graphics Design

• Understanding of or experience in agile software development

• Able to communicate recommendations to collaborators

• Able to work in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment – you are comfortable with ambiguity and find no job too big or small.

• Experience designing web and mobile apps

Nice to have:

• Degree in design

• Experience working on e-commerce marketplaces

• Understand what it’s like to be a parent of school-aged kids. We believe that if you are a consumer of the product you will be in the best position to design and understand the customer needs.

Additional details:

This is a remote contractor position. The management team is based in San Francisco Bay Area and you will be working in Pacific time zone. There will be evening meetings (9-10pm) one to two times a week to work with our engineering team in India. Must commit to 30-40 hours per week and have high speed internet access and computer.
