Unix Engineer (Remote, Outside IR35)

Unix Engineer - Linux Engineer - NetAppMetrocluster - 6 month contract - outside IR35

We have an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Unix / Linux Engineer to support an ongoing Cloud migration project.

You will be focusing on the design, build and implementation of their Unix Solaris and RHEL Linux platform, design and build of their Disaster Recovery solution and process automation using Python, Stackstorm and Orquesta. Additionally, you will be supporting the migration of the current infrastructure to NetAppMetrocluster.

Initially we will be expecting you to work remotely but due to the work involved some work will require you to be onsite in the Edinburgh office. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours is also expected.

I am keen to speak with candidates who have the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience of working as a Systems Engineer supporting Unix Solaris and RHEL Linux platforms for large organisations
• Experience of supporting Cloud Migration / operations and Disaster Recovery design and implementation would be an added advantage
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of Unix Solaris, RHEL Linux, NetApp solutions. Experience of Oracle VM Administration and VM Manager would be preferred.
• Python scripting skills
• Agile Kanban approach
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
