Lead or Senior Mobile UX Designer

6+ Month Contract, Potential to Extend or Convert

Remote in Denver or Chicago




As a Lead or Senior UX Designer, you will join a collaborative team of fellow Business, Product, Design and Technical stakeholders to work on transforming the Human Capital Management industry, by turning complex problems into elegant solutions that delight our clients and our users. We create and innovate enterprise-level web and mobile software for Human Resource professionals and employees.



This role will be working on innovating mobile solutions that integrate across our portfolio of software. This includes high-collaboration with stake holders, users and our business to research, elicit and define, design and deliver innovative next-generation mobile user experiences.



The Role

  • At your core, you have an insatiable passion for mobile user experiences, discovering new ideas, defining and validating both problems and possible solutions, and working in a highly-collaborative work style to grow shared understanding of our user’s goals, tasks and workflows. Translating these into innovative and elegant mobile experiences.
  • Speaking with, and understanding users from a informative viewpoint is what makes you most content and fulfilled. You love to carefully craft conversations with users so that insight can be gleaned and leveraged beyond the surface level obvious findings.
  • You are a self-starter whom commands the formative experience design process. You embrace ideas and turn them into actionable plans to define and validate the problem-space, and iterate and validate design solutions resulting in top-notch user experiences that meet and exceed expectations.
  • Working with a wide range of stakeholders and users, you have solid experience with user research, user experience design and usability validation.
  • You have demonstrable experience creating empathy maps, personas, journey maps or other artifacts that help the team connect with, empathize and understand our users.
  • You are skilled at storytelling to help bring understanding of our clients and users to life.
  • You thrive in a formative design process and actively work with team members to test sacrificial design concepts to ultimately deliver the most valuable solutions.
  • You are self-starter and are constantly learning about the latest trends in research techniques and tools and immediately leverage those on the job. You go the extra mile and break through perceived barriers or roadblocks.
  • You are collaborative, professional with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You effectively communicate your findings through empathetic and thoughtful analysis.
  • You establish and foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure success.
  • You have experience working in an Agile SDLC and working with local and off-shore scrum teams.
  • You are comfortable in defining and reporting out on the progress of user research tasks.


  • The Requirements

  • Experience and ability to work remotely and virtually from stakeholders and users, while maintaining high-collaboration, clear communications and meeting work expectations. Ability to work locally as needed.
  • Over 5 years experience with user experience design of enterprise-level web and mobile applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with little direction. Turning the unknown into the known, eliciting and defining business and user needs,
  • Over 5 years experience with User-Centered Design in an Agile SDLC.
  • Understanding of accessibility in web, responsive web and mobile applications.
  • Solid experience in reporting out on research learnings of the business and users.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with acute attention to details.
  • This is not a coding role, a conceptual understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Design, Information Science or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to present user research and work samples of completed projects is required.
