Title: Contractor – Junior UI/UX Designer

Manager: UX/UI Designer

Location: Los Altos, CA

FT/ PT: Contract Position (30-40 hours per week)

Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Junior UI/UX Designer is responsible for developing outstanding designs, interactions, and concepts across the Karmia digital experience. The ideal candidate will have designed or created concepts for websites and apps (e-commerce ideal) ensuring pixel perfect quality and a strong understanding of current digital trends and new technology. We're looking for talented problem solver who lead with passion and who face any task with a positive mindset. Select responsibilities include:

• Design visually compelling interfaces for a desktop and mobile that allow users to understand affordances and task flows throughout the platform.
• Develop new and existing design systems, visual styles, UI components, and web-based documentation to create amazing user experiences that delight customers.
• Create and organize production assets and detailed specs for pixel perfect implementation of features.
• Generate high-fidelity mockups, wireframes and prototypes based on UX flows.
• Maintain graphic standards and consistency for our website and digital platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working in an ecommerce and/or startup environment.
• Have a portfolio that demonstrates high quality UI work for review.
• Degree in Fine Arts, Design, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of design tools, especially Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Natural intrinsic drive and optimistic outlook.
• Appetite to face new, large, and complex challenges.
• Entrepreneurial savviness to think of the box.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience working across functional teams.
• Organizational skills that work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills.
• A track record of learning from everything and everybody.
