Georgia State University seeks an experienced software developer for neuroimaging web application for front end, back end, and devops.

The Tri-Institutional Georgia State University/Georgia Institute of Technology/Emory University Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS) is focused on developing, applying and sharing advanced analytic approaches and neuroinformatics tools that leverage advanced brain imaging and omics data, with a goal of translating these approaches into biomarkers that can help address relevant areas of brain health and disease. Large scale data sharing and multimodal data fusion techniques are the underpinnings of our approach.

The User Interface (UI) Developer will meet with Machine Learning (ML) algorithm developers to create novel UI solutions that allow end users to easily use their work and create user interfaces in React UI framework inside Electron, using GraphQL as API service. The UI Developer will work with the back end team to create a holistic solution for consumers and support team and production with some light back end development work as needed. The UI Developer will engineer an efficient, consistent, and re-usable code. Performs other advanced level duties as assigned.

The candidate should be able to use Git, GitHub, CI/CD technologies such as CircleCI, and cloud computing platforms such as AWS. The candidate should also write easily understandable code and unit tests. The candidate should have familiarity with neuroimaging modalities, including structural, functional, and diffusion MRI. Candidate should also have basic familiarity with machine learning algorithms.

The candidate should also be able to invent and implement creative design solutions, work well with others, and communicate well both verbally and in writing in English.

Job Summary:

Under broad supervision, designs, codes, tests, modifies and debugs computer software. Writes and analyzes programs of moderate complexity. Analyzes, researches, and resolves program or systems problems. Develops program documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of programming experience

OR Associate's/Vocational/Technical degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of programming experience

OR Two years of experience at the lower-level Programmer 2 or position equivalent.
