Role:
At Springboard, we are on a mission to bridge the skills gap by delivering high-quality, affordable education for new economy skills. We currently offer courses in data science, digital marketing, and UX design. We’re expanding our UI/UX design offering, and we’re looking for an expert who has a strong background in User Interface design to help us build a rigorous new course in the coming months. This is a unique opportunity to put your expertise into action to impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of students.
The course will be an online 6-month program designed to help students find a job in UI/UX within 6 months of completion. You’ll set the vision to ensure we’re teaching all that is needed to succeed as a UX or UI designer. Your work will include building capstone projects and other materials to define students’ learning experience.
This role will be a full-time contract role for a duration of ~4 months [starting immediately]. We estimate a workload of roughly 20 hours/ week. You can work with us out of our office in San Francisco or remotely. This is a paid engagement.
As part of this role, you will:
Set the overall direction for the curriculum
Define learning objectives and course structure (units and projects)Collaborate with the instructional designers and other subject matter experts to build the full curriculum. This includes: Designing, writing, and building course projects (and associated resources)
Curate high-quality resources (videos, articles) that effectively teach course topics
Write descriptions that summarize and explain the importance of each topic covered in the course
Create rubrics for mentors to evaluate student work
You:
Experience
UI designer (with UX experience). At least 3 years in the UI/UX field. A degree in UI/UX design (or equivalent experience).
Passion for teaching UI. Previous experience as an instructor in this subject area or UX generally, a plus. Mentorship (or similar) experience is great, too!

Proven ability to write clear project instructions
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines across a multi-month project
A history of working efficiently while maintaining a high quality bar for your work
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
