UI Developer (Outside IR35)

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a long term contract in the public sector (outside IR35) as a UI Developer on a long term contract, based in Birmingham.

The key responsibilities for this UI Developer role are:

• Develop new user-facing features
• Build reusable code and components for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

The key skills required for this UI Developer role are:

• SC Clearance
• In depth understanding of TypeScript with Angular 2 and above
• Good understanding of JSON and consuming REST endpoints
• Working knowledge of Git source management/versioning
• Good understanding of reactive programming principles, observables, asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and cross domain security
• Experience of working with prototypes and converting them to data driven templates
• Proficient understanding of semantic HTML markup with HTML5 and CSS3
• Understanding of working in an AGILE work environment and using tools such as JIRA/Confluence

Desirable skills required for this UI Developer role are:

• Working knowledge of Java, including the Spring ecosystem and micro service architecture
• Experience of AWS, vagrant and docker
• GDS (Government Digital Services) process, design principles and interaction patterns
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
• Task runners such as GruntJS, Gulp or Webpack
• CSS pre-processors, such as SASS or LESS
