Your new role

Your role will include daily contact with stakeholders, product owners and on-site team members to understand functional and non-functional requirements and design BDD test scenarios according to the acceptance criteria.

You will regularly participate in squad estimation activities and are encouraged to identify opportunities to maximise test benefit within the team. You will report to and provide regular updates to the domain Test Lead. Working within an agile team, you will be responsible for designing and executing automated and manual test suites to ensure adequate and effective test coverage and provide test assurance of the user stories according to the defined acceptance test criteria.

This is a technical role and requires knowledge of data testing, performance and load test, automation and building end to end test scenarios in a CI/CD environment. You will provide assurance at team retrospectives and planning sessions to ensure test best practice, continual improvements and appropriate standards are adhered to.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience:

You will need to demonstrate your track record against the following criteria:

  • Proven analytical skills, designing and implementing BDD feature files for functional and non-functional test activities is essential
  • Experience of delivering automated test frameworks in a test-first CI/CD environment
  • Ability to define the appropriate end to end test approach for automation and performance
  • Proven technical skills in one or more of the following is essential: Azure DevOps, Specflow, JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, WebInspect, C#, JavaScript, Python, Visual Studio, FME
  • Experience of testing on a cloud platform is preferred
  • Experience of allocating and prioritising own work and working across multiple delivery teams
  • Good knowledge of agile methodologies and software engineering best practice, advising on process improvement
  • Coaching and mentoring experience of test automation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and customers
  • Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable but not essential
