Test Automation Engineer

Duration : 2 plus years ongoing

Location : REMOTE ROLE

Seeking a Test Automation Engineer that can collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and cloud engineers to plan, design, and develop test automation to support DevOps pipelines and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).

Performs integration, regression and functional testing on systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and business practices and policies. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements and the creation and editing of test cases for new or modified systems.

Required:

  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams in agile settings to understand business requirements to develop test automation to support CICD * Ability to adhere to Software Engineering disciplines
  • Knowledge of and adherence to change control standards and procedures
  • Experience streamlining Continuous Test processes to improve the release of product builds
  • Strong experience with Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM),and Octane DevOps interfaces
  • Advanced experience with VBScript aligned with UFT development, and UFT descriptive programming
  • Develop scripts to perform comprehensive automated testing on multiple platforms including web based, client server, mainframe, SOA Services, API, and various vendor and legacy systems
  • Create and maintain reusable components, functions and libraries to reduce maintenance, increase efficiency and scalability
  • Maintain suite of existing automated test cases and scripts, making updates and extending test coverage as project changes are made
  • Collaborate with Analysts and Testers to understand project requirements, test cases, data and application functionality
  • Ensure Test Automation scripts meet business and technical requirements and are maintainable
  • Conduct code reviews with peers to ensure adherence to coding and quality standards
  • Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
  • Skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Advanced analytical/quantitative, reconciliation, deductive reasoning, and problem solving skills
  • Skill guiding and training less experienced staff

Desired:

  • Knowledge and use of software repositories such as GitHub or Bitbucket
  • Knowledge and use of Jenkins to support Continuous Test scheduling and CICD pipelines
  • Understanding of dependency tracking and experience with tools such as Maven
  • Experience with agile delivery frameworks, CICD pipelines, Azure DevOps and tools including Visual Studio and Eclipse
  • Preferred experience with UFT API Web service testing
  • Preferred experience using XPath to identify page objects
  • Understanding of Test Automation tools and methods that facilitate Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Automated Change Management using modernized solutions like ServiceNow
  • ASTQB CTFL Certification
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience
