An ICT Platform Support Officer is required to provide technical support services for corporate ICT systems including computer servers, operating systems, computer applications, database management systems, system software, production control, security and storage systems.

The postholder will need to be able to work outside of office hours and have a full current driving licence or access to a means of mobility support.

Duties to include:

  • Identify, evaluate and assist procurement of appropriate corporate ICT systems
  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and support corporate ICT systems
  • Provide advice, guidance and consultancy to members and staff, as required
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for corporate ICT systems
  • Work in partnership with Groups ICT units, suppliers and contractors to produce a co-ordinated, effective and efficient service to the Council
  • Ensure effective communications with customers to ensure their needs are addressed in a professional manner
  • Be highly motivated, highly skilled, with multi-disciplinary skills to keep pace with the industry and bring your expertise to bear in supporting a range of customers

Pay Rate: £15.32 per hour PAYE

“Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

  • Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.

  • ITIL Foundation
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Good organisational skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience:
    • Significant work experience in an ICT server support environment
    • Experience in supporting at least 2 of Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server and CITRIX XenApp applications
    • Experience in supporting at least six of the following products: Web Content Filtering, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2010, Anti-Virus products, Email Filtering, Enterprise Storage Solutions, Enterprise class backup/restore, Powershell or similar scripting language
    • Active Directory 2008
    • Experience of installation, configuration and deployment of virtual machines using VMWare ESX 3.5 or VMWare vSphere 5/6
    • Flexible approach to work
  • Able to work outside of office hours
  • Full current driving licence or access to a means of mobility support

  • Significant and relevant work experience in an ICT server support environment

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent. This opening assignment is for 6-7 months.
