Centauri is looking for a Systems/Acquisition Engineer. This position requires an understanding of the IC and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes and the ability to manage disparate projects. The candidate will support Customer Ground Enterprise Directorate Advanced Concepts Group (ACG) in the technical evaluation of multiple concepts at varying stages of the acquisition and development cycle. The scope of each activity varies widely but all contribute toward technology insertion and mission enhancement. The candidate must have deep technical understanding of sensor phenomenology, hardware and software capabilities and the challenges of integrating disparate systems into a hybrid architecture. The candidate will have daily interaction with the customer and supporting contractors, and will need to follow customer standards and processes as the programs are evaluated for mission applicability and through the life cycle. This position will require frequent interaction with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) and strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert technical recommendations and engineering insight on the technical aspects of multiple Ground Enterprise Research & Development and technology integration programs.
  • Direct interactions with the industry development contractors on project status, metrics and issues.
  • Provide Government acquisition support including, but not limited to Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), ECP Technical Evaluations, core acquisition processes and documentation.
  • Evaluate proposed enhancements and their associated features and capabilities.
  • Provide experienced counsel to the Government staff through all phases of acquisition including, but not limited to generation and review of system and sub-system requirements, development processes, integration, verification, validation and testing (IVV&T).
  • Collaborate with various Ground Enterprise and Mission Operations Directorate’s teams to enable transition of new capabilities into mainstream operations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external offices, Directorates and agencies of the US Government to identify, characterize and resolve issues and risks throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in engineering, physics or related technical degree with at least 7-10 years’ experience or extensive field experience in lieu of formal engineering technical certifications.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT and/or GEOINT remote sensing systems and general space and ground architectures.
  • Experience in key technical fields such as space communications, Command & Control, Mission Planning, Mission Processing, sensor integration and software development.
  • Strong Systems Engineering skills including requirements, CONOPS, integration and readiness.
  • Experience/familiarity in Scaled Agile Frameworks for Enterprise (SAFe) agile software development and Dev/OPS concepts, processes and production.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud or Azure.
  • Experience working with diverse US Government organizations with a myriad of SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority.
  • This position requires a one (1) year minimum commitment to the contract.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with specific Landmark AOS customer
  • Technical familiarity with mission processing or mission control of one or more SIGINT or GEOINT systems, including familiarity with specific sensor capabilities and phenomenology.
  • Software development background.
  • Project Management and Acquisition Management certifications
  • Understanding of Configuration Management/Control.
  • Understanding of software Risk Mitigation processes.

Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI required. Willing to undergo CI Poly.
