Data Science Systems Engineers | Cheltenham | £550pd

People Source Consulting are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a proven track record in the field of Data Science or Data Analytics, who is driven by solving challenging customer problems. The role will involve working directly with one our largest clients to identify approaches, prove concepts and design solutions to solve challenges related to identifying anomalies within complex data sets, ultimately to protect information and systems from the cyber threat.

The role will assist our customer through a combination of:

  • Understanding & interpreting business use cases and technical requirements
  • Applying Data Science techniques to improve current working practices
  • Producing system designs from concepts through to high level designs
  • Overseeing and performing technical design studies
  • Engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish consensus on viability of solution options and the associated benefits and risks
Knowledge / Experience:

  • Design of systems which process large volumes of complex and varied structured and unstructured data
  • Large scale ('big data') data ecosystems and analytic frameworks.
  • Machine learning and Deep Neural Net technologies and techniques
  • Techniques for performing statistical analysis of varied data sources
  • Techniques for data cleansing, data preparation, data processing, fusion and analysis
  • Techniques for combining data or analysing data streams in real time
  • Techniques for visualising complex data

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Passionate about delivering business value through creative application of technology
  • Ability to articulate and interpret technical language to non-technical individuals

  • Able to influence and be a part of the key decision-making process

Desirable competencies:

  • Detailed understanding of various types of Cyber Threats and Vulnerabilities
  • Systems Engineering and Architecture methodologies, standards, frameworks and tools (e.g. TOGAF, MODAF, EASE, UML, Zachman etc.)
  • Application of Systems Engineering methodologies to Agile delivery processes (e.g. SCRUM, DSDM, SAFe)
This is a customer facing role therefore we are looking for individuals who have the appropriate technical knowledge and who are able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

As you will be working on sensitive and secure projects, current SC / DV clearance ids preferred. However, as a minimum, all candidates must be eligible and willing to go through the clearance process.

In return my client is offering £550pd on a 12 month initial contract, likely to extend.
