The Web & IP Delivery Applications team manages and supports a wide portfolio of web based applications and IP Delivery services to deliver market leading technology. As part of this team you will be exposed to many different applications and technologies in a highly dynamic environment.

A highly-motivated and experienced Systems Administrator is required to provide technical support with upgrading & migrating Web & IP Delivery Applications between data centre’s. Working as part of the global IT Web & IP Delivery Applications team, you will be ensuring the operational availability of Web & IP Delivery services to the businesses highly talented global community.

This Systems Administrator role is a Contract position working in the Cambridge,. It is open to local candidates who are eligible to work in the England without sponsorship or documentation needs as international travel is a requirement for this role.  

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

- Planning and coordinating server migrations
- System upgrades to work in Docker containers
- Upgrade and service improvement of existing services
- Maintain technical documentation
- Maintain and enhance monitoring of services

Job Requirements

Essential Technical Experience

- Oracle and MySQL Databases
- Perl, Python, Java and PHP programming experience
- Experience working with containers (Docker, Rancher)
- Linux & Windows Server Management
- Experience with configuration / troubleshooting web based technologies
- Experience with common open source tools

Desirable Technical Skills

- Experience working with dynamic HTML components: AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, XML, HTML, XHTML.
- Atlassian Tools (Jira/Bamboo) experience
- Cloud based computing (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with Source Control methodologies (e.g. SVN/Git)
- AGILE sprint working methods
- Knowledge of ESSO (Office 365)

Professional Skills Required

- Ability to work well both in a global multi-cultural team, and autonomously
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, both internal and external
- Ability to prioritize own work
- Strong problem solving attitude

Education Qualifications

- 3+ years’ experience supporting web applications and services.
- Computer Science degree preferred; or equivalent training, education.
