As the Staff Program Quality Engineer, you will be our lead payload quality engineer supporting payload design/build/test in Azusa, CA. In this role as a Quality Engineer, you will support program activities with responsibilities ranging from technical design reviews through payload delivery. You will have responsibilities with supplier quality, hardware, software, contracts, finance and lead teams/projects in support of the Quality efforts on the program.

You will contribute by completing a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities:
o Subcontracts quality activities (contracts, design, production, integration, test)
o Drive successful hardware build at our suppliers
o Review engineering documents and inspect hardware
o Provide Material Review Board (MRB) authority for nonconforming hardware
o Ensure effective Corrective Action
o Lead and drive closure of QA issues with customers
o Apply data analytics to expose quality concerns
o Note: this role will work remotely but is very closely connected and reporting to the Sr Quality Engineering Manager

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, purchase orders, contracts and statements of work, etc. as needed to verify compliance of Supplier provided data
  • Experience working high profile, complex projects from start to finish.
  • Experience processing non-conformances through a Material Review Board process
  • Experience driving Root Cause analysis and effective Corrective Actions
  • Able to read and interpret engineering documents (drawings, Manufacturing Work Instructions, Test Procedures)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • You will be engaging with an array of diverse customers and situations so the ability to handle multiple challenging priorities with rapid job closure is important
  • You provide a thorough and detail-oriented focus with strong analytical skills
  • As a successful member of the team that delivers exceptional results, you will need excellent communication skills and able to develop rapport with the team and multiple partners and with external customers
  • Ability to work in multiple sites and travel
  • Can support a flexible schedule including exchanging weekdays for weekend days
  • Secret Security clearance and US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
  • Aerospace hardware experience
  • Experience with optical hardware and electronics
  • Demonstrated experience with QA across the life cycle of a program
  • Electrical Engineering degree or electronics experience is a plus
  • Material Review Board authority
  • Change agent mindset demonstrated through recent implemented improvements
  • Knowledge of the AS9100 Quality Management System
Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in developing and reporting quality metrics
  • SAP/ERP and SharePoint experience
