Sr. Automation Engineer

Position Description

Our client is looking to automate their manual operational tasks for themiddleware operations using tools such as puppet, python, Perl & Shellscripting. This project also involves implementing Splunk for creatingdashboards for operational and compliance metrics. This will allow our Clientto effectively manage their middleware operations and provide them withstreamlined operations and metrics.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Automate regular operational tasks using puppet, Python, Perl and shellscripting.
  • Develop Splunk dashboards for operational and compliance metrics
  • Analyze root cause of issues and drive resolution working with applicationand infrastructure teams.
  • Perform proof of concepts for new technologies and drive adoption within theapplication community.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Sr. level Expertise (6+ years) in UNIX, Perl, python scripting to automateday to day operations
  • Experience in configuration automation tools like puppet, Chef.
  • Clear communication and experience coordinating projects across multipleteams

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,Information Systems, or other equivalent field

Desired qualifications

  • Experience in AWS and container Orchestration.
  • Strong experience of Java/J2EE Application Platforms.
  • Experience with middleware products: install, configure and troubleshootvarious middleware platforms( Weblogic, TC, Apache, MQ, ).
  • Experience with B2B products Axway B2Bi, IBM Connect Direct, CA API Gateway.
  • Experience with log analytics tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience with Enterprise application integration(EAI) products Middleware,message queueing.
  • Experience with messaging products like Tibco EMS or MQ .
  • Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and associatedconcepts such as XML Schemas, WS specifications, SOAP, Service Mediation/ESBpreferred
