Sr ATG Developer

Apex Systems, the nation’s 2nd largest IT Staffing organization, has an opportunity for a Senior ATG Developer with a client based out of Newport News, VA. This role would be Contract to Hire and is fully remote although the candidate must be comfortable working Eastern Standard Time.

Job Duties: 

• Analyze, design, and implement commerce features such as product, catalog, search, cart and checkout on the ATG Commerce platform (ATG 11.x.).
• Effectively give and receive a thorough design and/or code review following documented coding standards and design template
• Develop and perform effective unit testing procedures
• Involved in project from startup through implementation to ensure all aspects of the technology plan are accounted for, understood, defined and executed successfully
• Provide estimates for development work and meets deadlines
• Work in an open environment, team setting
• Work with Business Analysts and Solution Managers to address requirement questions
• Work closely with Business Analysts to design scalable solutions to problems
• Work with other team members on medium and large-sized projects
• Work with peers, team leads and supervisors in a collaborative and shared-learning environment
• Participate in associate meetings and communicate concerns to management
• Work with both co-located and distributed teams
• Work with third-party software providers to ensure solutions meet the needs of Ferguson
• Provide mentorship to other developers

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field is required to perform at expectation
• 8+ years programming experience in Java
• Extensive experience with the ATG Commerce platform
• Experience with JBOSS, Linux, and Automated Software Development Tools (Jenkins, GIT, JUNIT)
• Knowledge of Web Security best practices
• Experience working with relational databases, Oracle and/or SQL Server
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Ability to multi-task with multiple pieces of work
• Ability to effectively work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle methodologies, processes and procedures
• Aptitude for analyzing data and business processes
• Demonstrates the ability to follow instructions, while also applying learned knowledge
• Advanced understanding of Application Software systems
• Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
• Ability to stay up to date with current technology enhancements
