Sr. Android Application Developer (Remote)

Seeking a software developer to build an Android application-level VPN as opposed to a device-level VPN. Candidate must know how to write lower-level API calls so that applications can access the network stack (eg. specific ports). Candidate must be knowledgeable enough to redirect requests from the application and write code based upon lower level API calls.

Knowledge of OpenVPN a plus.

Must have ability to work with other senior developers as a team (eg. API calls are synched up with code from GUI developers)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with architects and developers to determine functionalities
• Design, develop and implement solutions to users’ needs and requirements
• Develop and document design, source base and architecture
• Design and develop logical and physical data models that meet application requirements
• Review and check code, including running scanners
• Run tests and fix bugs
• Maintain and manage existing source bases
• Continually build and share expertise from researching technologies and techniques used by the latest companies
• Help develop our centralized libraries and coding practices to continually improve development

Professional Qualifications:

• Relevant engineering degree(s) with a solid understanding of computer science
• 5+ years of experience fielding software systems as a software developer and at least 3+ years of experience designing software systems as an Android developer
• Expertise with spiral and agile software development in C#, .Net Core and React.js and familiarity with Node.js is a plus
• Full stack design and development for following a plus: Constrained Devices (Sensors and Actuators)

Gateways (Connected and Smart Things)

IoT Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure)
