DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE This is an SQL Server Administrator position and requires someone who has worked on SQL Server, AWS, Powershell,SSRS, SQL Replication, Log Shipping, DB Mirroring etc. The ideal SQL Server Administrator would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
10+ years of hands-on SQL Server Production DBA experience handling exceptionally large database systems.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (preferred) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate in SQL 2014/SQL 2016.
3+ Yrs experience with Amazon Web Services, Spinning up EC2s, S3, Security Groups, AWS-CLI, AWS-RDS, Cloud formation and AWS Migrations.
5+ Yrs experience with SQL Server Performance Tuning, Capacity planning, Resource usage analysis and Recommendations.
3+ yrs experience with Windows Powershell for SQL Server, Powershell Usage on AWS-CLI.
5+ yrs experience with deploying SSRS, Assemblies/CLRs, Extended Stored Procedures, SSIS etc.
5+ yrs experience with deploying SQL Replication, Log Shipping, DB Mirroring.
Should possess experience working with SQL 2005 to SQL 2019.
Should understand the difference between Standard and Enterprise edition offerings and how this impact in AWS and On-Prem.
Should possess experience working with CIS and NIST SQL Server Standards.
Should possess knowledge on Core Industry Standards for SQL Server, Windows AWS and SAN.
Should have experience deploying Multi-Node SQL Server Always ON and Clustered environments.
Experience with Veritas Netbackup/Commvault is a Plus.
Experience with VMWare technologies and best practices on VMWare for SQL Server.
Maintain a commitment to professionally grow and share knowledge within the team.
Strong experience in process automation, related 3rd party software, as well as in-house solutions.
Experience with SAN best practices for SQL Server and in AWS.
Experience working with Microsoft Tech Support.
