SQL Database Developer, with a proven track record of creating MS SQL databases, data migration and transforming data from legacy products is required for an initial 3 month contract position. This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working on MS SQL/PostgreSQL databases, data development and highly complex data extracts. Experience of using SSIS would be beneficial in terms of data transformation.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
Essential
* Significant experience querying relational databases using MS SQL.
* Proven experience with database design and development including metadata management and the development of effective testing processes and procedures
* Experience managing, developing, building data warehouses including source to target mapping and documentation
* Data interrogation skills
* Significant experience of similar data transformation work from legacy systems through to SQL data warehouse and development of data to support operational and managerial reporting and analytical requirements
* Ability to work with customers to understand and document business requirements
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience of working and actively participating in an agile development environment
* Knowledge of relevant data protection legislation and data security
Highly desirable
* Experience of compiling and submissions of XML NHS Digital Statutory Returns
