SQL Database Administrator/ DBA

Up to £450 per day

Based in Swindon

Initially for 6 months with long term potential

My client is a successful blue chip company who are offering an exciting opportunity for an SQL Database Administrator/ DBA to support, maintain and enhance the estate of MS SQL Server instances. This will include the installation, monitoring, capacity planning, access control and maintenance for resilience and performance.

The DBA will be proactive and self-motivated with the following skills/experience;

• Significant experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and associated products in both a transactional and data warehouse environment (versions 2008 R2 - 2017).
• Knowledge of T-SQL, ETL, performance tuning and query optimisation experience.
• Advanced knowledge of backup and restore technologies, including 3rd party tools.
• Analytical, adaptable and able to problem solve.
• Experience of SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI and Business Objects
• Understanding of Cloud

Any experience of SQL Server hosting in AWS or Azure is highly desirable.
