The Client
Our client is an established & thriving international media organisation situated in Central London. Based in their prestigious modern London HQ, this opportunity entails working on a group wide data migration finance transformation project.
The Role as SQL Data Migration Consultant:
The client requires a SQL Data Migration Consultant with extensive experience of SQL and data migration projects. The role is to ensure that the data in all subsidiary finance systems (which are all SQL systems) are migrated to the core group finance system (Coda/Unit4). The position entails working closely with senior finance end users/stakeholders to ensure that a smooth migration occurs from all existing systems.
Duties
- Overseeing and ensuring delivery of all aspects of data analysis, mapping and transfer - design, development, ETL, data modelling and transformation
- Ability to demonstrate experience as a Data Migration Subject Matter Expert – workstream lead
- Coordinate with third parties for executing the migration
- Coordinating with multiple teams to support the migration activity
- Identifying the data migration impact of all proposed changes
- Reviewing gaps and proposing a solution for data migration during the solution design phase
- Analysing Customer source data to correctly scope and design migrations solutions using internally and externally developed tools
- Reconciling source and target data
- Data Modelling
- Data Quality Management
- Data profiling and data cleansing
The SQL Data Migration Consultant Candidate:
- SQL Server Data migration projects – demonstrable experience of 5+ years
- Experience with SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012 and above
- Experience of delivery in an Agile environment
- Experience of designing and executing data migrations from legacy systems
- Unit, Regression and Integration test experience
- Able to demonstrate experience as a Data Migration Subject Matter Expert
- Demonstrable full understanding of the end to end data migration process including: design, development, ETL, data modelling and transformation
- Defining and building CSV import/output jobs
- Defining and Implementing SQL Server Security
- Experience with: Jira, Json, Talend, PostgreSQL, SSRS, SSIS, SVN
