Contract Senior RTL Engineer (Remote)

Role: Contract Principal RTL Engineer

Location: Southampton, Hampshire (incl. remote working options)

Contract type: 3 months + permanent option

Rate: Dependent on experience

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal RTL Engineer, to contribute to the development of the hardware solutions for our client. This is a key hands-on role, which will play an important part in the growth of the company and its product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership to inform technical decision-making and planning at a company level
• Technical leadership for the successful delivery of projects by applying relevant skills and expertise
• Mentoring junior colleagues
• Policy and process development, to enable efficient use of resource
• Collaborate with architecture, design, development, verification and documentation colleagues
• Develop RTL implementations of electronics systems for communication, using SystemVerilog
• Develop test benches for RTL implementations of electronics systems for communication, using SystemVerilog

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential:

• EDA tools for simulation and synthesis
• AXI interfacing
• Timing and hardware resource optimisation for high throughput data or signal processing applications
• C/C++/Matlab prototyping for design and verification
• Version control and peer review
• Documentation
• Time management

Desirable:

• Maintaining EDA tools
• Creating innovative solutions and documenting them
• Automation tools
• Communications signal processing algorithms
• Mobile communications systems
• Telecoms and/or semiconductor industries
