Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
London based
3-month initial contract
Our technology-focused client are currently hiring a SDET on a contract basis in London.
Technologies that you must possess to be considered:
Java, Selenium, SoapUI, Javascript, Cucumber, Python, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, appropriate open source tools selected for the specific task - e.g. NGinX, Charles, Sikuli.
Role brief:
- Building efficient, practical and scalable automation solutions
- Creating test frameworks and supporting code that make creation/maintenance of tests as quick as possible
- Implementing holistic automation strategies, taking account of the interconnections and dependencies across multiple development teams.
- Triaging test failures to ensure detailed and accurate defects are raised and appropriately assigned
- Extending automation to include service provisioning, test data management, dashboarding and business process validation
- Looking for opportunities to reutilise code built by development teams to reduce duplication
- Advising on the most appropriate technical solutions to tickets raised on our automation backlog
- Conducting technical reviews against frameworks and test suites built by other SDETs to ensure they meet agreed measures
Skills required for this role:
- Experience on working on micro-services architectures and micro-services testing
- An understanding of the importance of end-to-end integration testing.
- Rest/JSON API endpoints
- Agile Methodology
- Jira
- Jenkins or alternative build pipeline
Desirable skills:
- Docker
- JMeter / Gatling
- Enjoy working on end-to-end stories in a multi-disciplinary team
