Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - ETL (Remote)

Who We Are:

Our client in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)- ETL, to join our team to help transition our video metadata pipeline to a new platform. You will create and execute tests to validate complex ETL transformations in the new systems and compare the functionality of new systems, and automating those tests where possible.

What You'll Do:

• Experience with creating tests for ETL pipelines, including validation of complex data transformations.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server data validation.
• Experience testing REST APIs.
• Experience with a NoSQL/document database, preferably MongoDB.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries for data validation.
• Strong Java programming skills and an understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with development in Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience mapping data in JSON and XML formats.

Preferred skills and experience

• Experience with the transformation of large data sets with Pentaho Kettle or similar technologies.
• Experience with VBA.
• Experience with Jira.
• Experience working with media/entertainment metadata.
• Experience with a CI tool such as Jenkins.
• Experience working remotely in an Agile Scrum environment.

Education

· Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science.
