The mission of the ServiceNow Platform Engineer is to learn, understand and administer ServiceNow as well as the larger business needs it supports. This engineer develops technical expertise to fulfill business process and reporting requirements for both ongoing ServiceNow users and new implementations. They integrate with different technologies as needed to integrate systems together in cohesive and automated ways.
This position will report to Percona's Director of IT. The position is remote work from home, with working hours that are flexible as long as they can overlap US/Eastern for a reasonable portion of the day.
This will be a 40 hour a week temporary contract position for 6 months with possible option for contract extension.
What You Will Do - Perform Ongoing ServiceNow Platform Development
Apply Business processes and requirements into the ServiceNow Platform
Understanding out of the box functionality on the platform and when to customize vs configure
Develop within the constraints of our ServiceNow licensing
Develop within established Architectural standards and working with the IT Director to establish new standards
Additional Duties - Participate In Our ServiceNow Implementation Projects
Establish working relationships with implementation Business and Process owners and Project management
Develop and manage user stories from creation through implementation and testing. Integrate with team best practices
Ensure implementation design conforms to overall use of ServiceNow at Percona
Your Experience
ServiceNow Administration (ITSM, CSM, Service Portal modules)
ServiceNow development (Studio, Javascript coding, REST APIs, Import Sets)
Strong English Communication skills
Ability to gather Project requirements and self-manage user stories
Remote and self-directed work
Detail and technically oriented
Ability to shift from details to business level conversations
Ability to consistently overlap US/Eastern work hours
Open Source development: Node.js, Python, Elasticsearch, Opensource DBMS
Open source systems: Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
This is a 6 month contract with possibility for extension and/or conversion (2021). Work hours - should be available minimally through 1pm EDT daily and as late as 3 pm EDT as needed for meetings.
Remote work from home openings require consistent and strong internet access.
HQ is in Durham, NC USA. Staff members should be available if there is a need for any onsite trainings and/or events at any time.
