We are looking to hire an experienced JVM developer to work on the next generation of Corda platform.Existing open-source version of Corda can be found here: https://github.com/corda/corda Depth of Expertise: Typically, 6+ years of significant commercial experience, in two or more areas.Design features that do not involve multiple areas of architecture change and provide validation for decisions Innovation & Improvement: Able to design multiple features that do not involve multiple areas of architecture change and provide validation for decisions Level of Interaction: Able to assess the work of more junior engineers and guide them in improving Ownership & Responsibility: Responsible for feature teams Coaching & Talent Management: Line Management of individual engineers. One-to-one with direct reports including quarterly reviews of direct reports. Assisting in Technical Interviewing. Impact: Able to own design feature decisions and champion Decision Making: Own design feature decisions and champion
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading a small project or workstream, taking a feature from design to delivery with guidance and input from more senior members of the team
Track progress of shard assignments using their intermediate understanding of their domain to execute their work
Learn about the needs business users and actively develop their knowledge in this space
Work with Product management to deliver larger features without guidance or active supervision
Leading write-up of design features with frequent architectural reviews with reviewers outside of the own team
Managing a small team of entry to mid level professionals, ensuring they have clearly defined goals and offering feedback on performance
Qualifications:
BSc. Degree or equivalent
Strong understanding of computer science and engineering principles, obtained through a combination of advanced academic study and significant professional experience
Typically, 6+ years' experience in an enterprise level environment
Experience delivering end-to-end platforms and services
Familiarity of multiple layers of the infrastructure and application stack from systems / OS development through networking, middleware, and application logic
Ability to work as an individual contributor as part of a larger development team
Experience with Java programming language/technologies
TDD and integration test coverage
Ability to produce developer documentation
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Nice to have:
Experience in designing/architecting larger frameworks
GitHub Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
RESTful or RPC API Design
Experience with authenticating REST APIs via OAuth/OpenId/SAML
Experience in creating WebServices "backends" in Java
