About FastModel
This startup will change how businesses, schools, agencies, and other institutions use digital communications and social media to help care for their people before mental and behavior issues impact their lives. We have built a risk mitigation application offering well-being as a service and reputation management. It is an artificial intelligence platform that can examine any form of digital communications, including social media, to look for signals of problematic behavior, like aggression and depression. The application offers a solution to the age-old question that comes up after a tragedy “How did we not see it coming?” The application provides for prevention of issues as opposed to reactively dealing with them. While we are an early-stage startup, we have already built an MVP and we are working with universities to start pilot trials. We will be scaling the platform and the company in 2020.

Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Full Stack Software Developer to inherit the current base of code and help create the company’s core development team. We are looking for an experienced technology leader to extend the current architecture for massive scalability on public cloud platforms, and to ultimately be cloud-platform agnostic. This key role will not only be focused on the application itself along with the underlying infrastructure, but also work intimately with our data sciences team that research and design our machine learning models, and support the creation of datasets that train and test the models. We are looking for a good communicator and team player that works closely with the CTO, product owners, and a growing engineering team to implement cutting-edge technology and solutions for the marketplace. We want a practical-minded developer that can balance design elegance and extensibility with the need to ship quickly and incrementally. You will work in an Agile environment and help build an engineering team that truly follows Scrum methodology to manage itself. These are core beliefs of the company and of the CTO so that we can build a world-class engineering team to help change how we use social media and digital communications for the better.
Requirements
· B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
· Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship
· Located in Southern California, ideally in the Los Angeles metroplex
· At least 7 years of experience as a professional software engineer
· At least 5 years of experience in developing complex, scalable backend systems with emphasis on REST APIs and JSON interfaces to a frontend service
· At least 5 years of experience in delivering web applications on cloud hosted SaaS/PaaS platforms, distributed systems, relational data models in PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, continuous integration and delivery, and networks
· At least 2 years of experience developing applications on Google Compute Platform streaming pipeline architectures, App Engine, Compute Engine, Pub/Sub brokering services, microservices, cloud datastore, BigQuery data marts and Dataflow
· Demonstrable experience developing platforms that support native iOS and/or Android mobile applications
· Proficiency in building service-oriented infrastructure and API-driven systems
· Ability to understand and work with architecture and codes across the whole stack
· Demonstrable experience with frameworks implemented via Express within NodeJS
· Demonstrable experience with Jenkins/Docker/Kubernetes
· Familiarity with caching and multi-threading techniques used in real world application
· Demonstrable experience in optimizing UI rendering performance through varying techniques including pre-calculations of database lookups
· Proven track record of writing clean, reliable and maintainable software
· Ability to investigate and debug problems if/when they occur across multiple code bases
· Ability to work in a startup atmosphere:

Responsibilities
· Develop extensible, reliable software for distributed processing and responsiveness
· Optimize new applications for maximum performance and scalability
· Help define and implement an Agile development environment and Scrum methodologies towards a self-managing development team
· Support the recruitment of world-class developers and other team members
· Collaborate effectively with other engineering team members, product owners and other major stakeholders to breakdown stories and epics, estimate effort, review code, unit test, peer test, QA test, and maintain version control
· Inspire and motivate colleagues to work hard but still have fun developing applications with cutting edge technology

· Demonstrable experience ingesting content data via Twitter RealTime PowerTrack, Historical PowerTrack, and Full-Archival Search APIs
· Demonstrable experience ingesting content data via Facebook/Instagram Graph API
