Job Description:
Our client based in downtown St. Paul, is seeking a product owner to build and launch our AI/ML-backed solutions in the employer benefits market with the following goals:
Increase customer engagement with decision support tools
Improve customer understanding of the products organization provides
Reduce the time spent reviewing and selecting products as part of benefits enrollment (e.g. at time of hire, family status change, or annual benefits enrollment).
The right candidate has prior experience with machine learning/artificial intelligence digital products and is looking to help launch these solutions in a product leadership role. This role is available as a contract, or contract-to-hire, position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with business and technology leadership to develop an initial product vision and roadmap with an aggressive timeline to launch a pilot of existing uses cases in Q1 2021.
Providing leadership to a development team including a variety of roles (e.g. data scientists, data engineers, back-end/front-end engineers) through the development of user stories and team alignment with overall product vision.
Defining, monitoring and communicating product KPIs and outcomes.
Owning the selection and acquisition of external data needed to support model development.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders within enterprise technology, the employer benefits market, and supporting areas (e.g. Law, compliance, information security) to ensure the product is in line with organizational risk alignment and priorities.
Supporting the creation of marketing plans to drive employer adoption and customer engagement.
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience developing, running, or owning an AI product, including experience with AWS AI/ML Services (SageMaker, SageMaker Studio, Glue) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Leadership skills to gain credibility, garner respect, and guide the creation of a self-organizing team and be assertive with business priorities and opposing viewpoints while adhering to Agile concepts and principles.
Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills to connect and engage team, facilitate discussion, advocate for team and negotiate with business/corporate areas, mentor/coach team members, and resolve conflict.
Strategic thinker, analytical and results driven.
Ability to learn quickly and independently
Preferred Skills:
5+ years of experience in a team leadership role (Product Owner, Engineering Lead, Scrum Master, Manager)
Ability to work with minimal direction, flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and schedules, handle multiple issues simultaneously, and to manage stressful situations.
Prior experience with digital products designed to build customer engagement and understanding.
Experience working with Ux professionals supporting concept testing, user research and A/B testing.
Prior experience with Python, SQL, Java, React, and Jira.
Insurance, financial services, or regulated industry experience preferred.
