Employment Status: 6 month contract to hire, 40 hours/week

Nearby Creative is in search of a Senior PHP developer with experience solving complex technology problems in a wide variety of platforms and industries.

As a senior developer, you'll be looked to for technology decision making while also providing mentorship and guidance to other team members and developers working on projects with you. We support making use of a collaborative and creative problem solving approaches to completing these tasks. Creating diagrams, whiteboard mockups, and brainstorming sessions with the team to plan your best approach are all encouraged when needed.

You will also be asked to join client meetings, in person and over the phone, to help stakeholders understand your decisions, to articulate technical challenges and to suggest best practices, insights, and solutions. You'll use the takeaways from these meetings to help develop technical tasks and delegate with team members.

Core Skill Requirements

Successful candidates will have experience or working knowledge of the following:

• AWS knowledge (EC2,Load Balancing, S3, CloudFront, ACM, etc)

• Linux knowledge (Ubuntu)

• security knowledge (OWASP)

• servers and containerization tooling (ie, Docker/ECS)

• relational database design (MySQL)

• Laravel PHP framework (MVC)

• coding frontend user interfaces, using SASS/CSS/Javascript/jQuery/React

• Comfortability in figuring out API integrations with 3rd party services (Facebook/Stripe/PayPal/ etc)

• comfort with using project management tools like Asana and Jira.
