Role Description

vCORE is seeking a hands-on Senior Palo Alto Cloud Engineer to work in a dynamic fast paced environment, that will be project-focused, working independently with little guidance. This is a short term contract position that is 100% remote. We're looking to start someone ASAP.

What You'll Do

• Represent the network team on multi-cloud projects
• Create, maintain and transition firewall policies
• Shadow rule cleanup, cloning and moving rules
• Configure and maintain routing on firewalls
• Perform Best Practice Assessment and next steps to implement
• Monitor firewall performance and integrity
• Resolve issues through troubleshooting and inspection of infrastructure.
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Assist with improvements to the firewall, network performance, capacity and scalability

Working hours are from 8:30 – 5:00 PM (PDT) with early AM change windows as needed

What You'll Need

Demonstrated experience in the following:

• Large enterprise environment 150+ firewalls
• VM-Series deployment in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• BGP and OSPF routing in PAN-OS
• Template stacks and variables
• VSYS segmentation
• Asymmetric routing
• Panorama
• Threat Prevention
• User-ID
• Wildfire
• Inspection of SSL encrypted traffic
• Packet capture analysis and troubleshooting
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model

Additional requirements:

• PCNSA and PCNSE certification preferred but not required
• 5+ years’ experience
• English fluency and strong communication skills
• Pass a drug test and criminal background check
