Overview
We are seeking an experienced leader to design and develop mobile applications that will support patients, clinicians, and clinical researchers. This role will be the lead engineering role and help shape the future of software development within Technology & Innovation

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, documenting, and developing world-class patient applications using the full spectrum of enterprise technologies and design patterns
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Defining the scale and scope of projects, including logical and physical landscape requirements, and design, development, and deployment efforts
  • Mentoring colleagues in development best practices, design principles and advanced technologies
  • Leading project teams through everyday project tasks
  • Working with leadership on reviewing and learning new technologies and trends
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to design, develop and implement iOS/Android mobile apps with features including but not limited to audio/video/text communication, in-app notification, location tracking, async/off-line operation, ...
  • Deep knowledge of, and demonstrable experience with, Javascript, Typescript, React Native, HTML, CSS, JSON, SQL, Swift/Objective
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns and best practices, Mobile Security/Performance, SaaS, REST, and Cloud Architecture.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems with well thought-out solutions
  • Proven experience leading development and/or project teams
  • Experience with collaborating across multiple functional/technical teams to deliver a project
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps CI/CD
  • Strong communication skills
This role will have a strong focus on the Apple ecosystem of hardware and software:
  • iOS developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of iOS devices including mobile phones and tablet computers. Your primary focus will be development of iOS applications and their integration with back-end services.
  • Design and build applications for the iOS platform
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
  • Proficient with Objective-C or Swift
  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as HealthKit, ResearchKit, CareKit, etc.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services and ancillary connected devices
  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
  • Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines
  • Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred

Education and experience
  • Experience building and deploying iOS mobile applications utilizing HealthKit, ResearchKit, and CareKit
  • Integrating the Apple ecosystem into a cohesive end-user experience accros iOS, WatchOS, iPadOS (with porting to Mac where applicable).
