This position leads the modeling, analytics and decision support for consumer acquisition pricing, promotions and marketing initiatives and their impact on kiosk collection and margin performance.

The right individual will apply sophisticated analytical acumen to develop and continuously improve pricing models and strategies and implement pricing proposals in coordination with the rest of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex analysis and make recommendations to senior management to support strategic pricing plans, including a deep understanding of how consumer behavior, competitor pricing, new device releases, sales pricing, and other broader market dynamics can influence future pricing
  • Define develop, evaluate, recommend and oversee the implementation of pricing models and strategies designed to optimize acquisitions, market share, brand positioning and long-term profits. Partner with Device Sales, Marketing, Kiosk Operations, Finance and other key stakeholders to correctly position the product portfolio and establish pricing programs aligned with product/sales strategies
  • Monitor the ongoing business environment to ensure competitive pricing/market position and direct the development and analysis of pricing models and projections
  • Oversee the implementation of pricing proposals and ensure they are executed properly
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Finance, Marketing, Device Sales, Kiosk Operations and Product to ensure all levels within the organization are coordinated with pricing decisions
  • Continually develop and improve pricing models, including enhancements to improve predictability and flexibility for pricing across device brands/types and by market/channel
  • Drive A/B, multivariate tests and design experiments to facilitate testing of new pricing, product and marketing initiatives, with focus on improving acquisition and conversion
  • Select, apply and tune a diverse set of tools to coherently solve challenging business goals
  • Create automated learning systems that gracefully scale to increasing complexity and expectation
  • Develop predictive, explanatory models and machine learning algorithms
  • Generate descriptive visualizations and presentations to communicate insights
  • Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

Education & Experience:

  • MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, data science, quantitative analysis, economics or related field is required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience leading pricing functions and teams
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in data science, data analytics or applied statistics applied to retail and/or consumer products

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in R, Perl, Python, Spark or other languages and frameworks appropriate for large scale analysis of numerical, textual, image and video data
  • Extensive experience with experiment design and A/B and multivariate tests
  • Advanced SQL skills and extensive experience with one or more BI/analytics tools, particularly Tableau
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data linking) and PowerPoint (advanced graphing and presentation)
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience managing, directing or interfacing with technical resources with broad, multi-disciplinary expertise
  • Experience applying advanced analytical techniques to pricing and consumer experience models and predictions
  • Able to synthesize complex and diverse data in order to draw logical conclusions
  • Independent thinker with ability to define and move a proposal forward, draw key insights and plan next steps
  • Collaborative working style when partnering with and influencing customers and team members
