Our Not-for-profit client is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer in Euston to provide a wide range of support to their team on a full time basis. This role would be ideal for someone who has relevant experience and is looking for their next step in the IT industry. The candidate will be required to have an in depth knowledge and experience in order to fulfil this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a technical infrastructure engineer maintaining, developing and documenting the IT infrastructure aligned with industry best practice standards to meet the needs of the business
  • Provide third line operational support, server and client infrastructure aligned to company values for infrastructure changes, incidents, requests and problems meeting Operational Level Agreements
  • Identify improvement ideas and money saving opportunities
  • Manage the organisations storage infrastructure, switches and servers
  • Design and configure network and system security in line with company policies
  • Maximise the IT infrastructures availability, performance and resilience
  • Deliver business improvements by the use of new technology applications, working with users and suppliers to develop the full potential of key systems
  • Keep abreast of industry best practice standards in relation to infrastructure, security management and data protection and utilise when undertaking duties
  • Operate as an infrastructure solutions architect, design authority and project manager for projects, supported by the manager
  • Maintain all infrastructure services including cloud, firewalls and infrastructure

Personal Specification:

  • Knowledge of IT legislation including software licensing, Computer Misuse Act, RIP Act, Data Protection Act
  • IT Infrastructure Library v3, appropriate ISO standards for IT Infrastructure and security
  • IT Apprenticeship Level 5 and above
  • Proven experience in an IT support based role at a customer focussed organisation
  • Windows Active Directory Administration, Citrix, Exchange or O356 Administration experience
  • Understanding of CISCO routers and its configuration and enterprise backup technologies
  • Administration of VOIP telephone systems
  • Managing a windows printing environment
  • Windows deployment services
  • The following skills; Windows 10, MS Office 2016, Administration of Windows 2008 server and above, some knowledge of Networking routers and switches, Microsoft Azure, backup software including restoring data. Databases and SQL, administration of Active Directory 2008 and above, DHCP and DNS, VPN’s and remote working, Citrix XenApp 6.5 or above. Internet security including Firewalls, server virtualisation, VMware 6.5 and above, TCP/IP, knowledge of leased lines, ISDM, ADSL, PSTN, and MPLS circuits, Microsoft IIS.

  • Must be willing to travel to other sites and work outside of normal office hours
  • Clean driving license
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience of working under presser and on own initiative
