6-12+ Month Contract Position
Location - 100% Remote
Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Enterprise Software Engineer in our Architecture & Engineering Services (AES) Team to design, build, and integrate or next generation of enterprise cloud services. Working within our Engineering team and collaborating closely with our customers, Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, and other key stakeholders, the developer will be responsible for driving key projects and initiatives in GBS. Our Engineering team’s primary focuses on developing enterprise cloud services that automate traditional IT Operations tasks using Cloud software development kits (SDKs), configuration management tools (like Ansible), infrastructure orchestration tools (such as Terraform) and where appropriate, commercial off the shelf tools (such as Solarwinds).
- Write code, engineer CI/CD pipelines, and champion the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) across divisions, departments, teams, and applications
- Envision and execute on an enterprise-scale cloud operations discipline using serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda & Azure Functions
- Modernize legacy scripts & siloed code to Representational state transfer APIs (RESTful APIs)
- Craft a culture of execution excellence coupled with innovation by incorporating best of the breed toolset
- Lead charge of developing and delivering operational services to our partner teams by using Ansible, Jenkins and Azure DevOps to help meet operational, security, audit, and compliance requirements
- Partner closely with Cloud Operations and Security teams to ensure the operationalization and adoption of engineering work
- Guide fellow engineers by clarifying requirements, providing technical insights, and removing roadblocks
- Report to stakeholders and leadership teams on the progress of key initiatives regularly
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- A Valid Technical Certificate in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Terraform or Kubernetes
- 5+ years’ experience in a Cloud DevOps engineering role
- 3+ years’ experience programming with the cloud SDKs/APIs or cloud deployment tools (such as Terraform, Cloud Native ARM/CFT Templates, etc.)
- 2+ years’ experience working with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or other well-known tools)
- 1+ years’ experience with Kubernetes
- Being able to write scalable production-grade code leveraging Cloud software development kit (SDKs) and Cloud APIs in (at least) one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, NodeJS or Ruby
- Experience with automated deployments utilizing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools (such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or other well-known tools)
- Experience with release management, product rollouts, and service operationalization
- Solid understanding of core AWS & Azure Services, working knowledge of CLIs, and cloud software development kit (SDKs)
- Enthusiasm for staying abreast of industry trends and a keen eye for product improvements
