ABOUT US:

Braintrust (usebraintrust.com) is a user-controlled talent network, where you keep 100% of what you earn and actually get to own the platform. We've been onboarding some big clients and specifically need a Senior Data Architect for our client.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client is developing an easy-to-use submission management platform that makes it simple to accept, review, and communicate about any kind of content online.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic, growth-driven team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to take on a critical infrastructure role in a rapidly growing company.

The position is a full-time individual contributor role and reports to the VP of Engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Make it easy for the team to ship. A good infrastructure team doesn't ship code - it enables engineers to ship code easily and reliably. Your job will be to get them to that point. It will involve doing and teaching.
  • Manage their AWS infrastructure. They run their stack on AWS, and use many of Amazon's services including RDS, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, and Elastic Transcoder. You should know AWS very well, and like infrastructure as code. Ideally, you have had experience managing infrastructure for a high volume, high availability SAAS product.
  • Monitor operations. Knowing what their systems are doing and when things go wrong is a key aspect of this role. You should be comfortable with CloudWatch and other monitoring tools, and willing to teach the Engineering team how to instrument their code to improve monitoring.
  • Take the lead for their production support process and participate in their on-call rotation
  • Write, review and debug both front-end and back-end code. Ideally, you have a full stack software engineering skill set in at least one common stack.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Super nice. They're a warm, engaged, and supportive team and are looking forward to welcoming you.
  • Strong team player who consistently demonstrates a sense of both urgency and ownership
  • Amazing written and verbal communication skills
  • Fast learner and open to feedback
  • Detail-oriented, engineering-minded, and budget conscious
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or a STEM subject preferred

ABOUT THE HIRING PROCESS:

Qualified candidates will be invited to do a screening interview with the Braintrust staff. We will answer your questions about the project, and our platform. If we determine it is the right fit for both parties, we'll invite you to join the platform and create a profile to apply directly for this project.

C2C Candidates: This role is not available to C2C candidates working with an agency. If you are a professional contractor who has created an LLC/corp around their consulting practice, this is well aligned with Braintrust and we’d welcome your application.

Braintrust values the multitude of talents and perspectives that a diverse workforce brings. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.
