A Senior Developer (JavaScript) is required for our client based in Edinburgh for an initial 4 month contract.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be joining the team responsible for the quality management of data stored within our client's database. This includes the quality control of daily and monthly data from various professional partners and clients within the UK. To conduct this quality control our client has created specialist software that identifies potential issues with the data collected and provides a tool for internal data analysts to make corrections as required.
To reduce the amount of manual effort required in conducting the quality control, our client would like to introduce more automation in the process and are looking for a Senior Developer to lead on developing the changes required, working with cutting-edge technologies in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the leadership of the software development process.
- Fully engage in the software development process at least 70% of the time.
- Apply and continuously improve the team's engineering principles and best practices.
- Share the knowledge and the work done by the team.
- Provide mentoring to staff based in Edinburgh in the development and coding of the changes so that these personnel can provide ongoing support and development of the system once the project is completed.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- At least 5 years of enterprise experience in frontend (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS) and/or Java.
- Experience designing and implementing robust software build and deployment solutions.
- Experience establishing and implementing methods to increase software quality, especially (but not limited to) integration testing, TDD, BDD and API contract testing.
- Ability to prepare and present complex technical subjects to different levels of audiences.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring other developers.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of enterprise experience in the Spring and/or Camel frameworks.
- Certified Scrum Master or equivalent.
