Job Description
Must Haves:

• 10 years plus experience in enterprise systems operations, systems engineering or software development.
• Excellent Communication – vendor is already there, so must be someone who can advise, do, and present to management. Also have experience working with other vendors.
• Minimum of 3-4 years ofpractical experience in CloudFormation and AWS Cloud services.
• Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with service offerings from Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, VPS, Lambda, Lightsail, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora).
• Ability to write scripts (Linux shell or Windows powerscript) to automate provisioning, de-provisioning and reconfiguration processes within the cloud environment using vendor provided APIs.
• Practical experience with building continuous integration and deployment environments. Experience with relevant technologies like chef, puppet etc.
• CloudFormation Essentials: YAML Essentials; Stack Features; Resources; Parameters; Mappings; Conditions; Outputs; Metadata; EC2 UserData; Metadata cfn-init & Helper Scripts (cfn-init, cfn-signal and cfn-hup); Metadata cfn-init - Config Sets; Nested Stacks.
• Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery using CloudFormation.
• Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation.
• Technical expertise in provisioning, operating, and managing distributed application systems on the AWS platform.
• Knowledge of core Linux stack components (Linux OS, DNS, SMTP, Apache Web Server, Apache Tomcat, MySQL); Microsoft OS stack components (i.e. Windows Server OS, Active Directory, IIS, MSSQL) also desired.
• Virtualization technologies, commonly used monitoring technologies and storage virtualization.
• Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.
• Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.
• Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, high transaction volume web applications, and fault tolerant systems on AWS
• Knowledge of SVN source control repositories - Responsible for deployment of builds and build integrity
• Knowledge of Build tools – Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.
• Amazon AWS Cloud Architect Certification or Microsoft Equivalent highly preferred.
