Senior Backend Java Developer / Richmond, SW London / Start ASAP
Contract Length: 6 - 18 Months
We are seeking Senior Java Engineers on a 6 mo6-monthling contract (expected length is 18 months but reviewed every 6 months).
Our global Ecommerce giant seeking experienced a Senior Backend Java Developer to work in their product teams; breaking down monolithic Java applications, capturing events, refactoring the codebase and integrating into new micro services based systems.
You will join a high-performance JVM-based team to work on a site with circa 15 million unique visitors a month.
You’ll play a significant role as part of a project to form the future of classified advertising on a global scale. We believe in using the right tool for the job and here is some of the tech that our client is using at the moment:
• Java, Spring, Scala, Akka, Play framework
• Elasticsearch, Postgresql, MongoDB, Redis, Memcached, Hadoop
• Jenkins, Git, WebDriver, ScalaTest, JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, Cucumber
Required experience
• Extensive development experience on JVM platform.
• Strong experience with most of the tech listed above, but at the very least: Java & Spring framework, JUnit, TestNG, Git, Memcached. Scala is desirable but not required.
• Ability to produce clean, testable code.
• Experience with and passionate about being part of an agile team.
Desirable / Non Essential skills
• Business experience with Domain Driven Design
• Solid experience with TDD and BDD
