Scrum Master/Business Analyst (Part Time)

Kollabio, a growing boutique consulting firm that provides Digital Transformation solutions and services to public and private sector organizations, is seeking a Scrum Master (part-time, contract) to support the development of an innovative product aimed at improving operational efficiency within federal agencies. As a Scrum Master and part time Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading a small team of 3 to 5 cross-functional technologists to deliver product increments iteratively and incrementally with a focus on user experience and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a scrum team in all aspects of the committed work (analysis, development, testing, documentation, etc.)
  • Act as a servant leader and aid with the resolution of blocking impediments
  • Work with Product Owner to groom product backlog and help capture solution intent as Epics, Features and Stories
  • Work with the Product Owner and the team to establish product backlog, produce estimates / resource needs, and deliver commitments on-time and on-budget while minimizing risks.
  • Wear multiple hats and support one or more of the following: Requirements Management (User stories, Epics, Product and Sprint Backlogs), Business Analysis and Quality Assurance
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as planning, reviewing, retrospectives and daily stand-ups
  • Utilize tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, to facilitate Agile ceremonies, including: Sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand ups, Sprint retrospectives, and status reporting
  • Utilize tools and reports, such as JIRA and Confluence, to collect, develop and analyze Agile data and metrics
  • Utilize data from retrospectives and other Agile metrics to coach and to recommend continuous improvements
  • Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team
  • Coach a continuous improvement mindset and recommend adjustments to established delivery practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Agile ALM tools, such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience modeling domain requirements and solution intent as Epics, Features and Stories
  • Demonstrated ability to run ceremonies and apply knowledge of user stories, product backlog refinement, automated testing and continuous delivery
  • Agile certification such as, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified Product Owner (CPO)

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
  • Work effectively and efficiently as a team member in high-stress and time-sensitive situations
  • Some knowledge of development environments, platforms, and technologies including Java, node.js, JavaScript, general web development, cloud technology, SQL and data modeling.
  • Some knowledge of DevSecOps principles, practices, tools and concepts

Education:

Bachelor’s degree a in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, and a minimum 5 years of in the Information Technology field focusing on development projects
