Scala Developer (Remote)

6 month contract - remote work and paying up to £750 per day

Working for a leading energy tech company here in the UK to work on their leading B2B platform. Where they are working on an industry-leading product to provide the UK with energy with the plan to be negative emissions by 2030, empowering other energy companies to follow the ethical trend with their product.

Senior Scala developer with a focus on big data and real-time streaming platforms, working within the product data ingestion team.

Duties and accountabilities: 

• Design and implement “Big Data” infrastructure for real-time data using Kafka
• Ensure highly interactive response times. Avoid allowing performance bottlenecks to creep into the system. 
• Be an active player in system architecture and design discussions. 
• Take ownership of development tasks, participate in regular design and code review meetings. Be proud of the high quality of your own work. 
• Be delivery focused, have a passion for technology and will enjoy offering new ideas and approaches.
