Ruby on Rails Developer - Greenfield Payments Platform - £600/day - London

A FinTech "Unicorn" client of ours based in London are looking for an experienced and talented Ruby on Rails developer to work on a Greenfield Payments Platform. This is a fantastic chance to work with some of the latest technology around the FinTech space, with top-level developers, architects and product owners.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful Ruby on Rails developer will join an Agile team to work on the company's new Greenfield Payments Platform, across both the backend in Ruby on Rails, and the frontend in React.

The platform itself is focused around the loan application process, and involves a large amount of data. Consequently, any Ruby on Rails developer that has worked on similar projects in the past will have an upper hand. Likewise, any experience with Docker and AWS would be a cherry on top, as they use Docker as a container and deploy into AWS.

It's crucial for them that the person they bring on is very autonomous, capable of taking the initiative, and stepping in as a tech lead now and then.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• 4+ years' experience working with Ruby on Rails
• Strong working knowledge of Javascript and React
• Experience working with AWS and Docker
• Background in TDD
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• CI/CD
• Git.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Previous experience in Ruby on Rails
• Experience working on risk platforms or other data-heavy projects
• Experience with Postgres
• Tech/team lead experience.

This is a 3 month contract with the potential to extend.
