Genesis10 is currently seeking a Remote Senior Software Engineer for a contract position lasting through 07/30/2021, working with a major insurance client in the Milwaukee, WI area.
Description:
As a Senior Software Engineer you will facilitate the design and development of integrated solutions, modernizing, consolidating and coordinating independently-designed applications to meet business needs. We are a small scrum team of engineers who work primarily on a brand-new system that will be used to price and value our Private and Real Estate investment assets. Development can include work on a React/Redux front end, Python API, SQL queries or DevOps integrations to support the AWS technology stack. The work environment is highly inclusive, and collaborative so strong communication skills are required. When in the office, the team leverages large TVs and whiteboards to share ideas, pair program and provide help to one another.
Responsibilities:
Design and development of a modern React/Redux app
Design and development of a Python API and its integrations with a Postgres database
Mentoring junior front-end engineers
Working closely with your peers, business partners, brokered teams and vendors
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience with specific technical requirements/platforms (i.e. React/Redux, Python, SQL) JavaScript
Strong technical and analysis skills
Ability to work independently or with minimal guidance in order to analyze and understand existing code and then convert that into requirements and design for modern solutions
Ability to communicate clearly with your peers and business partners
Understanding of event-driven architecture (nice to have)
Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies and GitLab CI/CD (nice to have)
Understanding of the investment’s domain (nice to have)
AWS - Kubernetes, Terraform, Flyway
Python - Flask, FastAPI, Django
