React Native Mobile App Developer at Sports Startup

Summary:

How would you like to use your React Native skills to help build a cross-platform mobile app for a Sports Startup? You will be working with an experienced cross-functional team to develop a mobile app that presents end users with better sports predictions based on algorithms we’ve developed.

The position is a 3-month, full-time, contract with the potential to join the team as a full-time employee.

Your effort will lead to a new product launch later this year.

Job duties:

• Work as part of the team to build a cross-platform React Native mobile app.
• Work in collaboration with a cross-functional team that includes a UI designer, data scientists, statisticians, project management, marketing, cloud architect, and full-stack developer.
• Develop the app using the React Native framework and TypeScript based on designs and specs provided by the team.
• Write clean, well-organized, modular code.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Participate in technical decisions.
• Assist with integrating app with back-end services, account management, payment processing, or other 3rd party APIs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree or higher.
• 3+ years of development experience with React Native.
• 5+ years of mobile app development experience.
• 5+ years of development experience with JavaScript.
• Expert at React Native development, building screens to match designs, and building workflows.

• Expert at state management within React Native.
• Experience with Jest or other testing frameworks.
• High standards when it comes to code quality and user experiences.
• An understanding of React Native best practices and commitment to following them.
• Able to independently perform development tasks quickly based on designs and specs.
• Able to stay connected and communicate progress successfully remotely via email, Slack, and Trello.
• Positive, pleasant, and productive.
• Able to take ownership of your work, work successfully independently, and as part of the team.

Preferred:

• 7+ years of professional development experience.
• 2+ years of development experience with TypeScript.
• Experience developing with React Native CLI, not Expo.
• Experience deploying React Native app to iOS and Android devices for testing (without Expo).
• Experience publishing React Native app successfully to Google Play and Apple App Store.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
