We are looking for a React JavaScript Front End Developer with a passion to build modern, interactive websites, and who will be a pivotal member of our team as we build our Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for the consumer travel industry - http://www.GEOVEA.com. A great fit for this role is someone who is always intrigued by new technology and is constantly finding better ways to write beautiful, shareable, and solid code.

Job Description:

We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient with React.js. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React.js workflows (Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

The initial position will be part time, remote, and a contract position during our startup phase, with the potential to join us full-time.

Minimum Requirements:

3+ years of high quality software programming - portfolio of work required.

Strong experience and knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, vanilla JavaScript, JSX, and React JavaScript framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new user-facing features using React.js
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows (Redux)
  • Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
  • Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
  • Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization

Ability to provide quick iterations based on input, feedback, and changes in business and functional requirements.

Ability to balance attention to detail with prioritizing work in order to meet deadlines.

BS or MS in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Can work part time and a minimum of 0-40 hours per week when required.

Work part-time remotely.

Eligibility to work in the US.

Experience with the travel and leisure industry would be beneficial.
